WHAT IS THE KONMARI® METHOD?
The KonMari® Method is a mindful approach to decluttering and organizing developed by Marie Kondo. Instead of organizing one room at a time, the method guides you through your belongings by category, helping you make intentional decisions about what you want to keep and what you’re ready to let go.
The goal isn’t simply to have less. It’s to create a home filled with belongings that support the life you’re living now and the life you want to create.
Working one-on-one with a certified KonMari® Consultant provides personalized guidance, structure, encouragement, and judgment-free support as you move through the process.

THE KONMARI® JOURNEY
The KonMari® Method follows five categories in a specific order, helping you strengthen your decision-making skills as you move through your belongings.
01
CLOTHING
Begin with clothing and learn the decision-making process that will guide the rest of your tidying journey.
02
BOOKS
Thoughtfully consider which books continue to have a meaningful place in your life and home.
03
PAPERS
Sort through papers and create a simpler, more manageable approach to the documents you need to keep.
04
KOMONO
Work through miscellaneous belongings, including kitchen items, bathroom items, household supplies, décor, and other everyday possessions.
05
SENTIMENTAL ITEMS
Finish with meaningful and sentimental belongings after you’ve strengthened your ability to make intentional decisions throughout the earlier categories.

KONMARI® ORGANIZING FAQs
What is a KonMari® Consultant?
A KonMari® Consultant is trained in the KonMari® Method developed by Marie Kondo and helps guide clients through a structured, category-based approach to decluttering and organizing their belongings.
How is the KonMari® Method different from regular home organizing?
Instead of primarily organizing room by room, the KonMari® Method approaches belongings by category. The process helps you thoughtfully determine what you want to keep before creating intentional systems for those belongings.
Do I have to get rid of everything?
No. The purpose of KonMari® organizing is not to get rid of as much as possible. You decide what belongs in your life. The process helps you make those decisions more intentionally and confidently.
Will you judge how cluttered my home is?
No. Tidy If You Please provides a supportive, respectful, and judgment-free organizing experience. The focus is on helping you move forward, not judging where you’re starting.
Do you offer virtual KonMari® organizing?
Yes. Virtual organizing allows you to receive personalized KonMari® guidance and support from the comfort of your own home.
Is KonMari® organizing the same as house cleaning?
No. Professional organizing and house cleaning are separate services. KonMari® organizing focuses on belongings, decluttering, intentional decision-making, and creating organizational systems. House cleaning focuses on physically cleaning and maintaining your home.
How long does the KonMari® process take?
Every home and individual is different. The length of the process depends on factors such as the number of belongings, the size of your home, your goals, and the pace at which you’d like to work.
